Built by Thomas Telford between 1795 and 1808, there are 18 Piers reaching as high as 126ft. Made from the local stone,the canal runs through an Iron trough 1007ft long, 11ft wide, and 5ft 3" deep spanning the river Dee, Being the largest Aqueduct in Britain, water is fed from the Dee at the Horseshoe falls at Llantysilo.
